We Believe In The Gospel
The Gospel is the GOOD NEWS about Jesus.
Jesus is the most famous person in all of human history. More songs have been sung to him, artwork created of him, and books written about him than anyone who’s ever lived. Even our calendar is based off his life, dividing time before and after him. At Breakthrough, we’re all about Jesus—and the only way to really get to know Jesus is to understand what the Bible says about him.
The Gospel is that God himself has come to rescue us through Jesus.
Understanding the Gospel
G – God created us to be with him. (Genesis 1-2)
O – Our sin separated us from God. (Genesis 3)
S – Sins cannot be removed by good deeds. (Genesis 4 – Malachi 4)
P – Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again. (Matthew – Luke)
E – Everyone who trusts in him alone has eternal life. (John – Jude)
L – Life that’s eternal means we will be with Jesus forever in heaven. (Revelation 22:5)
Responding to the Gospel
How to Make a Faith Commitment: In a prayerful moment, turn your life over to the care and control of Jesus Christ. Jesus, I believe that you are God. I believe that you came into the world to rescue me from sin and death. I believe you died, were buried and rose again, conquering death for me. I accept your free gift of forgiveness and eternal life. Come and lead my life, I want to follow you. Thank you for Loving me! Amen.
Our Statement of Faith
As a Church we believe God is so passionate about each one of us; He is bigger, better and closer than we could imagine.
The Bible is the perfect guidebook for living life.
Jesus is God clothing Himself in humanity so we can see Him.
God lives in and through us now by the Holy Spirit and wants us to be filled and overflowing with His presence.
Nothing we see around us is an accident. God created it all.
We could never do enough good things to have a relationship with God. Grace is the only way to step into a relationship with Him.
Trusting and relying solely upon God is the only way we grow in our relationship with Him.
With God we win, all other options lead to failure. God has allowed evil to provide us with two choices. If we choose God, He can bring good even out of evil events and He tells us in the Bible that there is victory for those who choose Him. The other option isn’t so good.
Death is a beginning not an end. The beginning of the rest of your life will be in one of two very real places, heaven or hell.
The church is God’s family and He wants the church to do as He did, to serve people just as He did.
Jesus is very real and He is coming back!
